Since 2004, I have been promoting my club, Toa Payoh Central Toastmasters Club, through the website and this public speaking blog.
Lately, 3 other Toastmasters Clubs deserve my highest recommendation.
But, why learn public speaking in the first place?
This is what Donald Trump has to say:
Years ago I was probably nervous
about facing an audience, but I got over it ….
Being afraid of speaking in public
is something you can conquer
… whatever the size of the audience, …..
That said, public speaking and presentations
may be a necessary step on your ladder to success.

The 3 Heavyweight Public Speakers, Club Sponsors and Mentors
What do the 3 Toastmasters have in common?
They are champions in speech contests!
I lost to all 3 of them.
Michael Lau
I lost to Michael in year 2009 while he was still a fairly new member.
The next time we cross path again, I’ll be more well prepared.
Let me brush up my public speaking skills and I’ll duel with him again.
To learn and practice public speaking at the East of Singapore: Changi, East Coast, Tampines, Simei, Bedok, Pasir Ris, etc; contact Michael Lau.
Mike Woon
I lost to his winning speech “Wonder Woon” in year 2004.
He went on to win at the next level and represented Singapore in Hong Kong, competing with the rest of the best in Asia.
Mike is hard to beat any day.
Unlikely I could this lifetime.
I’ll send my son when he reached the age of 18.
At least, my son could beat him in height.
To learn and practice public speaking at the North East Region of Singapore: Sengkang, Anchorvale, Houngang, Punngol, Seletar, etc; contact Mike “Wonder” Woon.
Tay Yiang Ping
Yiang Ping is Chinese educated and yet I lost to her in English speech contest, not once but twice; in year 2006 and 2007.
It would sure be a sweeter revenge to beat her in a Mandarin Speech Contest.
Cairnhill Mandarin here I come.
To learn and practice public speaking in Mandarin at the City, Orchard, Newton and Central Area, contact Tay Yiang Ping.
